Destination entries are optional and only required if you want to specify values that override system defaults or values in user or department entries. Each destination can have different parameters. The Track administrator may assign each destination a certain number of points (greater than or equal to zero) per page. Usage does not count against a user’s quota when a destination has zero points.
Destination settings have priority in determining the number of points per page to charge and how to handle over quota situations. If configured, the destination’s value overrides the system values for unconfigured users or departments. It also overrides the user’s or department’s specific values, if configured.
When you add a new destination, most of the parameters are set to defer. When enforcing quotas, if a parameter is set to defer, EasySpooler uses the value for the corresponding parameter in the user and/or department settings. If not set to defer, the destination setting overrides the value for the corresponding parameter in the user and/or department settings. The destination setting is therefore the effective value.
If a parameter is set to default, EasySpooler uses the value for the corresponding parameter in the system defaults.
If you want to track department usage and/or quotas for the department with which a destination is associated, type the name of that department in the Department parameter. You must also set the Department source parameter in the system settings to Destination, User then Dest, or Dest then User. For more information, see Track: Edit System Settings.
To add a destination to Track:
Click Track on the main menu and click Destinations from the drop-down list. The Track Destinations window opens. It lists previously added track destinations.
Click +Add Destination. The Add Track Destination widows opens.
Enter the appropriate information to add a destination. For a complete list of the parameters for destinations and their default values, see Track: Add or Change a Destination.
Click OK.
Click Close on the Track Destinations window.
To change a destination in Track:
Click Track on the main menu and click Destinations from the drop-down list. The Track Destinations window opens. It lists all configured track destinations.
Click the select icon to the right
of the name of the destination you want to change. The Change Track
Destination window opens.
Enter the appropriate information to change a destination. For a complete list of the parameters for destinations and their default values, see Track: Add or Change a Destination.
Click OK.
Click Close on the Track Destinations window.
To delete a destination from Track:
Click Track on the main menu and click Destinations from the drop-down list. The Track Destinations window opens.
Click the delete icon to
the right of the destination on the Track Departments window.
