Track: Change System Settings

To change the system settings:

  1. Change the settings as needed. Use the table below for guidance.

  2. Click OK.

NOTE: The fields related to email notifications appear at the end of the list of parameters. See Track: Email Notifications for more information on setting these parameters.

Determines whether or not new users will automatically be added to the tracking database when spooling or printing documents.

Setup new department

Determines whether or not new departments will automatically be added to the tracking database when spooling or printing documents or configuring users and/or destinations.

NOTE: Departments may not be added unless LDAP is in use and configured to provide this capability.

Allow unknown user

Determines whether or not unknown users are allowed to spool at zero cost. (Only relevant if Setup new users is set to no.)

NOTE: A request has zero cost if the effective value of Points per page is set to zero or Subject to quotas is set to no for the destination.

User quotas

Determines whether or not user quotas are enforced.

Department quotas

Determines whether or not department quotas are enforced.

Use aliases

Determines whether alias names are treated as separated destinations for tracking purposes.

Track system usage

Determines whether or not printing statistics will be accumulated for the system as a whole.

Track destination usage

Determines whether or not printing statistics will be accumulated for each destination.

Track user usage

Determines whether or not printing statistics will be accumulated for each user.

Email pattern

 

A pattern used to automatically generate email addresses. The string ’{name}’ may be used to insert the user name. If LDAP support is enabled and this field is left blank, the email address will be looked up using the LDAP protocol.

The time of day that email notifications are sent.

Department source

Determines whether the user’s department or the destination’s department is considered when gathering usage statistics and checking quotas.
