View or Change Document Properties

The Document Properties window allows you to view the delivery settings for a single document. The Change Document window allows you to change settings before you submit the document.

To view the properties for a specific document:

  1. Click Documents in the main menu and select Active documents or Inactive documents from the menu options. The appropriate document list opens.

  2. Click on the document you want to view and select Properties from the pop-up menu. The Document Properties window for that document opens.

The table below gives information on each field on the Document Properties window.

To change the properties for a specific document:

  1. Click Documents in the main menu and select Active documents from the menu options. The Active Documents list opens.

  2. Click on the document you want to view and select Change from the pop-up menu. The Document Properties window for that document opens.

The following table lists the information available on the Change Document window.

Field

Description

Title

Title associated with the document.

Status

Processing status of the document, such as hold, processing, stuck, finished, or ready.

Form

Type of form selected for processing this document, typically a pre-printed medium, such as a check or invoice, that must be physically loaded into the printer destination. The default value is stock. You may also select from the list of form ids that have been entered previously for other documents, or select a predefined form name. See Define System-Wide Form Names.

Format

Appearance of the document, such as font, orientation, and so on. The value you enter must match one of the allowable values set by an administrative user. The default value is stock.

Separator page

Type of separator pages to use between printed documents, if any. Value is one of the following options:

d:  use default

0:  none

1:  before

2:  before each copy

3: 1 & 2 in combo

4: after all copies

5: 1 & 4 in combo

6: 2 & 4 in combo

7: 1, 2 & 4 in combo

Priority

If lpspriority is set to default in global turning parameters a value from 1 - 255, with 1 being the highest priority and 100 being the default. If lpspriority is set to mpe, a value from 14-1, with 14 being the highest priority and 8 being the default. See Global Tuning Parameters.

Deactivate

If checked, the document is moved to the Inactive Documents list after processing. The default is checked.

Save time

Length of time to display the document on the Inactive Documents list after processing. Entry may be in seconds (in the format ss); in minutes and seconds (in the format mm:ss); or in hours, minutes, and seconds (in the format hh:mm:ss). The default value is 0 (zero).

The hierarchy is as follows: A document setting in the Save time field takes precedence over the Default save time setting for a destination. A Default save time setting for a destination takes precedence over the value of savetime in the global tuning parameters.

Last page completed

Number of pages processed for the number of copies of this document requested. For example, 1 pg /39 copy means that the first page of the 39th copy has been processed by the selected destination.

Copies

Number of copies of the document to deliver to the destination. The default value is 1 (one). The maximum allowed value is 65535.

Last copy completed

The last copy that was processed.

Scheduled

Either immediate, or the future time and date that processing is scheduled to begin.

Permissions

The permissions setting for the document.

Compress spool file

Select whether or not to compress the file. The default is blank. To compress the document click the box to check it.

Data type

Data type for this document. If you want to change the setting, click  to display the Select Supported Data Types window. Select one of the following data types:

PSF/6000 ASCII

EBCDIC

Binary

I-Shell

IGP

FingerPrint

Lines per page

Number of lines per page. Used in calculating the number of pages in an ASCII document. By default, the number of lines per page is 66.

Status alert time

Length of time to wait after a document has a ready status before displaying an alert message. Also, length of time to wait since the last alert was displayed before displaying a new one. Entry may be in seconds (in the format ss); in minutes and seconds (in the format mm:ss); or in hours, minutes, and seconds (in the format hh:mm:ss). The default value is 0 (zero).

The hierarchy is as follows: A document setting in the Status alert field takes precedence over the Queue alert after setting for a destination. A Queue alert after setting for a destination takes precedence over the value of qalertime in the global tuning parameters.

LPR code

Optional lpr filter option code. Certain systems (notably Microsoft Windows) require the l code (letter l) if the spooled file contains control codes other than new line, carriage return, horizontal tab, and form feed. The default value is f (formatted file).

Options

This is an optional field for advanced users only. It sets options that are passed to the document processor, such as:

-o length=999

which specifies the number of lines per page.

The following fields are visible if the destination for the document is an Email or Model Script

Address type

Select either Email address or Email address list file. Enter the appropriate information in the following field.

Email to

Based on the selection in the Address type field, enter either an email address in the format username@domain.com or the name of an address list file, which contains a list of addresses, one line per address. The file must reside in the $LPSDIR/adm/print_scripts/email directory on the EasySpooler server and may require the assistance of an administrator to set up. The directory may contain multiple address list files from which to choose.

Email body

Content of the message. The default message is "This report from username is being delivered to you by ROC EasySpooler ." You can change this message to fit your situation.

Email Orientation

Page orientation to use when creating a PDF document. Options are portrait and landscape. Use this field only if you purchased the Doc2PDF tool and installed it on the EasySpooler server.

The following fields are visible if the destination for the document is a VSIFAX Model Script

Fax number

Telephone number of the recipient's fax machine (destination).

Fax machine

VSIFAX name of the fax machine to use when sending a fax to the destination.
