SimulPrint a Document

Use the SimulPrint tool to split a large document into equal sections and send each section to a different printer for simultaneous printing. You can select from 2 to 16 destinations to process a document.

NOTE: SimulPrint is unavailable for document types that do not support this feature. The supported document types are ASCII, PCL and PCL-XL.

PCL and PCLXL documents utilize the silent run feature available on most PCL/PCLXL printers. The entire document is sent to every printer with pre-pending PJL commands instructing the printer which pages should be printed. This is done to insure that any font down loads, macro definitions, and other printer/page setup code is sent to every printer. It also insures that any PCL code at the end of a document that removes macro or font definitions is executed. If you are using simple PCL, consider using the r - restartable pcl data type, or the a - ascii data type which allows the SimulPrint tool to break the document up into parts, because it can assume that each page is independent of any prior pcl commands.
